Rebecca & Rafael | New Haven Engagement | Tampa, Florida and New England Wedding Photographer
We first met Rebecca and Rafael for pizza in Bridgeport and the first thing that stood out to us was their deep love for each other and their beautiful little girl. These two are great parents and partners for each other. The engagement session was shot at Yale's beautiful Marsh Botanical Gardens (if you haven't been there you need to check it out!). Check out the photos of these two truly beautiful people.

Spring Engagement | Kasia & Wes | Connecticut Wedding Photographer
Kasia and Wes are an awesome couple and so fun to hang out with for a day. It was an absolute joy to take their engagement photos. They met at BAR in New Haven, CT and that is where we started their engagement shoot. It was a chilly day in New Haven but you couldn't tell by the way their love for each other overflowed! It was apparent by the way they looked at each other that they can't wait for their wedding day. We can't either. The rest of the shoot was around the Yale University campus, a place that I am particularly fond of for its collegiate-gothic architecture, gorgeous squares and because its where I study.

Winter Engagement | Isabella & Dennis | Connecticut Wedding Photographer
It was a cold and snowy day in January when I had the opportunity to hang out with Isabella and Dennis and take some gorgeous engagement shots of them. Their love for each other was beautfiul and it made shooting on a cold day such a joy. We did our shoot in a park in the Downtown Milford, CT. Here are some of my fave's.

Aiden’s First Birthday | New Haven Family Photographer
Happy First Birthday Aiden! Your dad and I are so glad you are in the world and we love you so much more than we can even tell you. You were the beautiful baby boy that your father dreamed about three months before we got married. Then when we got pregnant and saw you for the first time on the sonogram, I knew that it was you. I said, “that’s our boy!” The name “Aiden” was the first name that we suggested for you and it just stuck. Somehow we knew that you were our “little fire” (that’s what Aiden means after all) and for the past year you have certainly lived up to that and much more. Exactly one year ago today you were born at DePaul Hospit ...

One Week Left
For 9 years I have been a part of the Regent University community. First I was a student, then a staff member and eventually even an adjunct faculty member. Before Larrisa and I move to New Haven next week where I will attend Yale, we wanted to take one more evening walk around the beautiful campus. And of course, the best part of being a photographer is that I can bring my camera with me and snap some gorgeous shots of my family.
Here are some of the photos from our last walk around Regent:

Let’s Fix the World
Let's fix the world.
Ok, that is probably too large of a mission for one or two people. But could we do it if every capable person did a little bit in their neck of the woods? I think it's possible.
Larrisa and I have been thinking lately about what we can be doing to make the world better. We have started to do some small things that I think are moving us in the right direction, but we've been thinking a lot about how we can use our photography to bring healing to this broken world as well. In the video below, Jeremy Cowart shares how he mobilized teams of photographers around the world to take free pictures of those in need to help th ...

Wedding Tip Wednesdays | Wedding Favors | Connecticut Wedding Photographers
Larrisa's series on wedding run sheets will continue next week. This week she felt inspired to give some tips on wedding favors. Enjoy!
I love giving. I love searching for hours online to find just the perfect gift for a special occasion. I love giving gifts so much that I actually can’t buy them too far in advance otherwise I will end up give them to the recipient early because I just can't stand it!
Wedding favors are just as fun. These small gifts are powerful tokens of appreciation that remind your guests of the lovely time they had celebrating with you on your wedding day. They are also ways to enhance your wedding and add a person ...

Avoiding Wedding PTSD | New Haven Connecticut Wedding Photographer
Weddings can be stressful. The bride is trying to ensure that everyone will have a great time. The groom is trying to make sure his bride doesn't lose her mind, and the mother of the bride is just trying not to lose it thinking about her little girl getting married. This, however, is supposed to be a special day. This is the day that a young woman and man promise to devote themselves to each other forever before God and their family. Ultimately, your wedding is not about a party, it's about two people sharing their love with each other, their friends and family. While Jay and I love photographing wedding celebrations and every little detail t ...

Wedding Tip Wednesday | Connecticut Wedding Photographer
Jay and I see lots of weddings… Most are wonderful, but occasionally there is one that is less organized and so stressful for everyone involved, most importantly the bride. This always breaks my heart because most of the time all the drama could have been easily avoided with the simple use of a good run sheet. “What’s a run sheet?” you ask... The run sheet is a vital part of the event and absolutely necessary if you want a smooth and (relatively) stress-free wedding day. It is a minute-by-minute agenda, listing every single activity from start to finish and its main purpose is to keep everyone on schedule and informed about what to do next. ...
