Jessica & Jeremy | Anna Maria Island Wedding
Jessica and Jeremy traveled down to Florida from Michigan for a destination wedding at The Sandbar on Anna Maria Island. Their wedding was on the same day that Hurricane Matthew was hitting the east coast of Florida. Fortunately, the weather was gorgeous, even if it was windy. They took the windy weather in stride and everyone had an amazing time. We couldn't have been happier to be with them to capture their beautiful and special day.
Check out some of our favorites from the day:

Fiorella + Marcus | Powel Crosley Estate Wedding | Sarasota, Florida
Fiorella and Marcus's wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, FL was beautiful and so much fun! Both of them just wanted to have a great time and a great time was had! When I shot their engagement shoot in Ybor City, I could tell these two were passionately in love with each other. That was true at their wedding too, but even more so. Their love for each other overflowed the whole day, and they couldn't wait to see each other at their first look. Once they caught a glimpse of each other, the emotions overflowed and they couldn't let go. It was such a joy to be a part of their day and capture their gorgeous wedding.
Here are some o ...

We moved to Florida…in June!
I've been meaning to write this post for a while now, but we've been pretty busy shooting weddings and engagements, so here it is! Most of you know that in June we relocated from Connecticut back to our home in Florida. We couldn't be happier to be back in the land of palm trees, incredible sunsets, warm (ok freakishly hot) weather, alligators, and grandparents. Aiden is so excited to be back around the grandparents and we've been having a ton of fun swimming and adventuring around town. We live in a little house on a lake and Ris and I love sitting on the back porch drinking a glass of wine in the evenings and dreaming about what the future ...

Mariah + Ben | Curtis Hixon Park Engagement
When I met Mariah and Ben for the first time at Curtis Hixon Park for our engagement session, I knew we were going to have a great time. They were laid back, hilarious, and in love (the holy trinity of great photos!). They are both music teachers who love teaching and their students. The facts that they are both from Michigan (where I've spent quite a bit of time) and that Ben is a big hockey fan gave us tons to talk about. I'll forgive Ben for being a Detroit Red Wings fan...

Michele + Eli | Safety Harbor Engagement
Michele and Eli are two genuinely fun people and it was awesome taking their photos in Downtown Safety Harbor. We began their shoot at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa and worked our way through downtown (one of our favorite places in the area). They laughed and joked the whole time and their love was obvious from the way they looked at each other. We can't wait for their wedding in January! Check out some of our favorites from the shoot:

Callie + Tiller | Private Home Wedding | Plant City, FL
Callie and Tiller were married on her family's farm in Plant City, Florida. Having met at a film festival in Lynchburg, Virginia where they were both film students, they knew they were going to be best friends after a conversation about Doctor Who and Harry Potter. When we first talked to them and found out they were film students, we were nervous because we knew their standards would be high! But they told us they chose us because they were film people and they could see we understood lighting and they loved our artistic style! Needless to say, they understood us and I think we got them. They are a fun and funky couple who are clearly deeply ...

Erin + Kyle | Connecticut Wedding
Erin and Kyle were married at The Crocker House in New London, CT in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. We had so much fun shooting with them because they were both just fun-loving people. Erin said her favorite memory from the wedding was the time spent with Kyle before the wedding (after the first look!) when we were taking photos around the Thames Club. Kyle's favorite memory was their first dance. I asked Erin to describe Kyle in five words, her reply: "a pain in the ass." It's that sassy wit that made us fall in love with these two! Kyle was a tad more diplomatic with his answer: "what I've been waiting for." Awwwwww. We had so much fun shooti ...

Micaela + John | Connecticut Wedding
Micaela and John were married at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills on a bright sunny day. It was an incredible location! Micaela was a stunning bride who radiated with love and excitement. John teared up when he saw Micaela walking down the aisle. He described the moment as "incredibly powerful."
Here are some of our favorite photos from their special day:

Baby Zachary! | Yale/New Haven Hospital | New Haven, CT
This post is long overdue but it is our pleasure to formally announce the birth of our second son, Zachary!
Born on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 22.5 inches long and 9lbs 15.4oz. He is the perfect addition to our little family.
The birth went relatively smooth, but took a small and unexpected turn. After Larrisa labored all weekend like a champ the doctor informed us that he was just too big to come out to old fashioned way. So he was ultimately born via C-section. We learned once again that parenting (especially births) never goes quite as planned. Nevertheless, we are so thankful he is here and healthy! Today, he is just over 7 weeks old ...

Commencement 2016 | Yale Divinity School | New Haven, CT
For years I dreamed of attending Yale to earn a Masters degree in Religion. Two and a half years ago, on a whim, I decided to submit my application to Yale Divinity School and see what might happen. In February 2014 Larrisa and I had our first son, Aiden, and soon after I learned that I had been accepted to attend my dream school. At the time it seemed like it would be impossible for us to attend. Tuition for two years of graduate school was over $40,000 and that didn't include living costs. I thought it was going to be impossible. But Larrisa told me we could do it. In fact, if I remember right, she said "we are going!" After being awarded s ...
